Cinema has a power in itself that is often confused with narrative... I believe that cinema is something else altogether, and a lot of authors are doing that: pushing its limits, asking themselve what cinema is, what it's telling us, what it can do and what experience it can be.

Pablo Chavarría Gutiérrez was born in 1986 in Monterrey. He has a degree in Biology from the UANL and has directed the feature films TERRAFENI, TAPETUM LUCIDUM, THE REST OF THE WORLD and ALEXFILM. His work has been shown in Distrital, Punto de Vista, Anthology Film Archives, among others. In 2013 was selected as a member of Talent Campus Guadalajara and received the Jóvenes Creadores grant from the FONCA. His latest films are THE LETTERS (2016, CPH:DOX, FICUNAM) and STILL THE EARTH MOVES (2017, world premiere at FICUNAM).
