Biography

Damir Čučić (1972, Slovenia). Damir began his career as filmmaker in 1989. In the past two decades he was very active in several audiovisual fields, primarily as a film director and editor. He made a series of documentary and experimental films and several short fiction films and has won many local and international awards. His films screened at festivals in around 40 countries on all continents and were broadcasted by many European TV stations. His feature fiction debut LETTER TO DAD won the Golden Arena at Pula Film Festival in 2012 and Čučić won the best editing and best debut director award. MITCH - DIARY OF A SCHIZOPHRENIC PATIENT (2014) received Jury’s Special Mention at FID Marseille International Documentary Film Festival and was screened in the Documentary Competition at Sarajevo Film Festival 2014 and in the Balkan Dox section at Dokufest - International Documentary and Short Film Festival. The Spirits Diary is his 40th film.
