Biography

Santiago Esteves studied Directing at the Buenos Aires University of Cinema, while working as an editor alongside directors including Pablo Trapero, Mariano Llinás and Juan Villegas. He wrote and directed the short films CINCO TARDES SIN CLARA (2009), LOS CRÍMENES (Best Iberoamerican Short film and Critics’ Awards at Huesca 2011) and UN SUEÑO RECURRENTE (2013). In 2015 he directed the fictional mini-series La educación del Rey, later to become his first feature, winner of the Films in Progress Industry and CAACI/Ibermedia TV Films in Progress Awards at the San Sebastian Festival in 2016.
