Zézé Gamboa



Zézé Gamboa was born in Luanda in 1955. Between 1974 and 1980 he directed the news programs for TPA, the Angolan television and in 1984 he graduated from Néciphone in Paris with a degree in sound engineering. He has directed numerous fi lms amongst which MOPIOPIO (1988) and DISSIDENCE (1998). His first full-length fictional film, THE HERO won many awards, amongst which the Grand Prize in the World Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival in 2005. Most recently Gamboa released THE GREAT KILAPY (2012), which was presented at the Toronto International Film Festival, the London Film Festival and many other Festivals around the world.
