Biography

Riccardo Giacconi is an italian artist and filmmaker born in San Severino Marche, Italy, in 1985. He studied Arts in the IUAV University in Venice, at the UWE in Bristol and at the New York University. In 2011 he showed some of his works at Palazzo Reale in Milan and at ENSBA in Lyon (France) and he was a finalists of the Ariane de Rothschild Prize. His artistic research focuses on language and narration as a form of resistance or of belonging to a socio-political context. He is particularly interested in the possible relationships between literature and the visual arts, transposing poetic or narrative compositions into environmental installations, videos and performances. His films were shown at various international film festivals, including the Torino FF and FID Marseille. In 2007 he co-founded in Venice the Blauer Hase group that organizes the Helicotrema Festival.
Riccardo lives and works between Colombia, Italy and France.
