Biography

Florian Gottschick was born in Frankfurt in 1981. His interest in cinema led to him produce films for TV and cinema as well as organize film festivals in the Balkans. He attended the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf and directed documentary shorts such as LICHT BRICHT SICH (2008) and HERR KIO. His film ZWILLINGE (2010) was shown at several festivals and was released on DVD. Gottschick's first feature-length film ARTISTEN (2011) premiered at the Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis and was nominated for the DEFA Award for Young Talent. His graduation film NACHTHELLE premiered at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN in 2014, was nominated for the German Cinema New Talent Award for best directing and best screenplay, and was screened at 50 international festivals. Gottschick is a member of the Bundesverband Regie (German Association of Film Directors) and lives in Berlin and Spain. His latest feature is REST IN GREECE (2019).
