Andrei Gruzsniczki



Graduated from the National Film University in Bucharest in 1994 and became the First AD of Romania’s most acclaimed director Lucian Pintilie, for his Next stop Paradise and Niki and Flo; and also wrote and directed short films and TV productions. His debut THE OTHER IRENE, won The Main Award and FIPRESCI Award at CinePécs Moveast IFF (Hungary) 2008; was The Best Romanian Feature at Transilvania IFF 2009; got the Main Award at ANONIMUL Independent IFF (Romania) 2009; Atlas d'argent for Best Directing at Arras IFF 2009; Special Jury Award and Best Actor offered by Romanian Guild of Cinema in 2009; Best Actor at the Festival International du Film d’Amour de Mons 2010. The second feature Quod Erat Demonstrandum (Q.E.D.), got the Special Jury Award at Roma IFF in 2013 and The Golden Taiga Award at IDFF Spirit of Fire -Russia 2014; Prix de Syndicat Francais de la Critique de Cinema at Arras IFF 2014. Andrei completed the Script Development Workshop Sources 2 for his film Zavera (in pre-production) in 2014 and the Sources 2 Training Mentors for European Screenwriters and Filmmakers in 2015.
