For me, cinema is a necessity.

Born in Barcelona in 1976, Mauro Herce graduated in engineering and fine arts before enrolling in film school at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV in San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba) and the École nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière in Paris. He started his career as a director of photography and screenwriter on such films as OCASO (2010), ARRAIANOS (2012), A PUERTA FRIA (2012), EL QUINTO EVANGELIO DE GASPAR HAUSER (2013) and SLIMANE (2013). DEAD SLOW AHEAD (2015), his first feature film as a director, premiered at Locarno Film Festival, where it won the Special Ciné+ Jury Prize in the "Filmmakers of the Present" section.
