I keep coming back to the same themes in fiction and documentary films: the balancing between war and peace and the image of home and family as a safe haven or fortress (even if it is not so). Maybe, a psychotherapist could give me some answers. But for the time being, I keep walking in circles looking for them myself.
Born in 1982 in Kyiv, Tsilyk is a Ukrainian filmmaker and writer. She is the author of eight books published in Ukraine (which include poetry, prose, and children’s books). THE EARTH IS BLUE AS AN ORANGE (2020) is her debut feature-length documentary.
