Biography

Born in 1965 in Maastricht in the Netherlands, she studied at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam and graduated in 1991 with the short film KOEKOEKSKINDEREN. Her short film DE REGELS VAN HET VLIEGEN (THE RULES OF FLYING) screened in Competition at the Berlinale in 2004. She went on to work as an assistant director on several film productions and made further films. In 2002, her feature film debut TUSSENLAND won the Tiger Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Her second feature, CALIMUCHO, screened at the Berlinale Forum in 2009.
