João Paulo Miranda was born on the inland side of São Paulo state in 1982. He graduated with a degree in Cinema in 2004 from Estacio de Sá College (Rio de Janeiro). He holds a Master’s degree in Multimedia from the University of Campinas. A Professor at the Methodist University of Piracicaba (SP), he is also a member of the Brazilian Association of Cinematography and the founder and coordinator of the research and film practice group Kino-olho. Selected at la Semaine de la Critique in 2015, his short film COMMAND ACTION captures the rhythms of a Brazilian city through a street market.
