The intimacy that exists within family relationships is an endlessly fascinating form of love that intrigues me. It is bigger than us, and is both positive and negative.    


Boudewijn Koole was born in Leiden, Netherlands, where he studied Industrial Design at the Delft University of Technology. His film LITTLE BIRD (2012) was the Dutch entry for the Oscars. It won the First Feature Award Berlin and European Discovery Award. BEYOND SLEEP (2016) was the opening film at IFFR and won the Dutch Academy Award best director. DISAPPEARANCE 2017 premiered at TIFF and won the Cineuropa Prize in Les Arcs.
