Egil Håskjold Larsen



Egil Håskjold Larsen grew up in the wilderness of northern Norway. In the remote village of Jarfjord, just next to the Norwegian border to Russia, they were 3 people in his class. He then finished his education as a still photographer from Anadolu University in Turkey, before taking a Masters degree in documentary film from Volda University. Egil has worked as a cinematographer on several fiction and documentary films, including works with directors like Victor Kossakovsky.

His first feature documentary as a director; 69 MINUTES OF 86 DAYS (2017) earned him several international awards, including the Emerging Filmmaker Award at Hot Docs.

He is now finishing his second feature length documentary: WHERE MAN RETURNS. A film from his childhood playgrounds; a portrait of a man's particular relationship to nature, in this remote wilderness. It'll premiere as the opening film in Tromsø International Film Festival, January 2019.
