Biography

Nanouk Leopold (1968, The Netherlands) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam and the Film and Television Academy in Amsterdam. Her first feature ÎLES FLOTTANTES was selected for the Hivos Tiger Competition of the 2000 International Film Festival Rotterdam. Her second feature, GUERNSEY, was selected in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. WOLFSBERGEN premiered in the International Forum of New Cinema at the 2007 Berlinale and was selected for the Toronto International Film Festival. BROWNIAN MOVEMENT premiered at Toronto in 2010 and had its European premiere in the Forum Section at the 2011 Berlinale. IT’S ALL SO QUIET, based on the novel by Gerbrand Bakker, was the opening film of Panorama Special at the 2013 Berlinale. All of Leopold’s films have been honored with both Dutch and international awards.
