I strongly believe in faces. If you have the right faces, you have the right movie, more or less. They carry more than just information about the character. You have to adapt your directorial style to them because the face is the truth.
Levan was born in Tbilisi in 1973. He studied film directing at the Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow. In 2006, he completed the Graduate Film Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 2007, he began studying film production at the Georgian State University of Theatre and Cinema in Tbilisi. Following STREET DAYS (2010), BLIND DATES (2014) was his second feature-length film, selected at Berlinale and Toronto IFF. His latest feature is BRIGHTON 4TH (2021), selected at Tribeca.
