I definitely see beauty as a vital necessity. At least in my case, any difficulties in life are overcome through art, beauty, and nature.

Lluís Miñarro (1949, Barcelona, Spain) has worked in the advertising sector in major international agencies such as McCann-Erickson, JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi and founded the Cine Club Arts in Barcelona at the age of 18.He has worked as a presenter, writer and critic for the magazines Destiny and Directed by, but above all is a renowned producer of independent films with his company Eddie Saeta. Some of the films are UNCLE BOONMEE WHO CAN RECALL HIS PAST LIVES (Apichatpong Weerasethakul, 2010), Tiger Award winner FINISTERRAE (Sergio Caballero, 2011) and films by Manoel De Oliveira, Naomi Kawase and Lisandro Alonso among others. He has been honoured with retrospectives in Paris, Cali, Montevideo and Tangier. In 2010 he received the 'Ciutat de Barcelona' distinction for his commitment to the arts. As a filmmaker, he has directed two documentary films FAMILYSTRIP and BLOW HORN (2009), and the shorts 101, A PROPOS OF MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA (2012) and MEAT STEW (2015). His first feature film FALLING STAR (2014), free version of the brief reign of Amadeo of Savoy, participated in over 50 international festivals and was awarded in Tirana, preselected by the EFA and awarded with two Gaudí Awards.
