Ursula Meier

Ursula Meier

I like the marginal characters in movies, that they don't look like other people, that they feel out of the world, they feel differently.

Swiss and French, Ursula Meier studied filmmaking in Belgium. She then began her directing career with successful short films and documentaries. Her feature debut HOME premiered in the 2008 Semaine de la Critique at Cannes, was nominated for three Césars in 2009 and won awards including the Swiss Film Prize for Best Fiction Film. SISTER won a Special Award Silver Bear at the 2012 Berlinale. In 2014, she was involved in the omnibus film BRIDGES OF SARAJEVO which was presented in the official selection at the Cannes Film Festival. SHOCK WAVES - DIARY OF MY MIND screened in the Panorama Special section of the Berlinale 2018.
