Biography

Laura Mora was born in Medellín, Colombia. She graduated from film school in Melbourne, Australia. Whilst there, she directed two award-winning shorts, WEST (2006) and BROTHERHOOD (2008), before returning to Colombia in 2009 and working as a script supervisor on several productions. In 2010, Laura was awarded a production grant to make her short SALOMÉ. She went on to direct more than 35 episodes of the award-winning TV series ESCOBAR, EL PATRÓN DEL MAL (2012). In 2014, Mora directed the political period feature BEFORE THE FIRE that premiered in FICCI. She is now in development of her first and most personal, theatrical feature film KILLING JESUS, an intimate drama about the assassination of her father, set for production in winter of 2016.
