Cinema can be an echo of how wondrous or stupid humanity can be. Regardless, as storytellers I hope that we can leave future generations with questions that awaken a push towards a more diverse and tolerant world. Tolerant for all living things, not just humans.

Nathalie Álvarez Mesén is a Costa Rican-Swedish film writer/director. She started her career in physical theater in Costa Rica before pursuing her B.F.A. degree in Mime Acting at the Stockholm University of the Arts in Sweden. Nathalie graduated from Columbia University's Graduate Film Program in NYC with an M.F.A. in Film Directing/Screenwriting, and her first feature is CLARA SOLA (2021) which premiered in Cannes in the Directors' Fortnight section. Nathalie is currently developing her second feature, THE WOLF WILL TEAR YOUR IMMACULATE HANDS, which won the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award at the Torino ScriptLab 2021.
