I love to make sets and puppets by hand. And stop-motion animation is the perfect way for me to combine that interest with my fascination by the film medium
Niki Lindroth von Bahr is an artist and animation director based in Stockholm. Her award winning short films THE BURDEN (2017), BATH HOUSE (2014) and TORD AND TORD (2010) have been screened at festivals such as Cannes FF, Berlinale IFF, Toronto IFF and Sundance FF. Since it's premiere in 2017, THE BURDEN has won 82 awards, including the Cristal for Best Short Film at Annecy IAFF, Best International Short Film at Toronto IFF and a Guldbaggen for Best Short Film. Niki got her masters degree in Fine Arts from The Royal Institute of Art in 2016. She is represented as an artist by Stene Projects Gallery in Stockholm and as a director by Nexus Studios in London. Niki is also a costume designer and has been working for artists such as Fever Ray and David Bowie. Her latest film SOMETHING TO REMEMBER (2019) was selected at the Tampere Film Festival 2020.
