Biography

Bettina Oberli was born in Interlaken in 1972 and grew up in Samoa. From 1995 to 2000, she studied film at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). After her multi-award-winning debut film IM NORDWIND (2004), her second feature film LATE BLOOMERS (2006) was screened for a year at Swiss cinemas, sold worldwide and watched by more than 600,000 spectators. In 2009, Bettina Oberli made the cinema feature THE MURDER FARM, an adaptation of the crime novel by Andrea Maria Schenkel. She directed the play Anna Karenina at the Theater Basel before making the film LOVELY LOUISE (2013) and the award-winning SRF/ARTE-two-part film PRIVATE BANKING (2017). She is currently working on a new cinema film and two TV series.
