Olga Lucovnicova is a Moldovan filmmaker based in Belgium. She studied cinematography at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts of Moldova, made one year of European Voluntary Service in Latvia and studied documentary film directing at DOC NOMADS, an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Program, delivered by a consortium of three prominent European universities across three countries: Portugal, Hungary and Belgium.
As a filmmaker, Olga is particularly interested in people and personal stories, which can generate social changes and create a platform for discussion. Her filming style combines observational cinema with poetic elements, where human emotions and feelings are the key focus.
Her recent film MY UNCLE TUDOR (2020) received the Golden Bear at Berlinale 71st, for the best short film.
