Lois Patio (b. Spain 1983)
He studied cinema at the Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and at NYFA in New York, and videoart at the UdK in Berlin.
His works have been shown in international art centers and cinema festivals. With his work MOUNTAIN IN SHADOW -2012- won awards at Oberhausen IFF, Clermont-Ferrand or Bucharest Experimental IFF With his first feature film COSTA DA MORTE -2013- received at the Locarno IFF the award for the best emerging director . This work also get prizes in festivals such as Jeonju IFF, FICUNAM, Festival dei Popoli, Valdivia IFF, Seville European FF. His short film NIGHT WITHOUT DISTANCE -2015-was screened at Toronto IFF, and won, among other awards in the San Francisco IFF. His latest work FAJR -2016- premiered at Rotterdam IFF and had an award at Curtas Vila do Conde.
Specific focuses on his work have been developed in places as the New York Film Festival (Views form the Avant Garde), Flaherty Seminar (Colgate University), BAFICI (Argentina) or Festival of Cali (Colombia). And has been invited to show his work at universities such as Harvard (Sensory Ethnography Lab), Cal Arts (L.A.), California College of the Arts or FUC Buenos Aires.
