Biography

Sacha Polak graduated in 2006 from The Netherlands Film and Television Academy with her short film Teer, which was selected for a number of international film festivals. After TEER came the short films EL MOURABI (2007), DRANG (2008) and UNDER THE TABLE (2008). In 2009, Sacha took part in the Directors’ Lab at the Binger Filmlab. Her short film BROTHER (2012) was selected for Berlinale Generation 14+. In the same year, her feature film HEMEL was selected for the Berlinale Forum and won the FIPRESCI award. In 2013, the feature documentary NEW BOOBS was released, telling Sacha’s personal story. Besides this, Sacha took part in the Berlinale Residency to develop her new feature film ZURICH, which will be released in February 2015.
