Christian Schwochow



Christian Schwochow was born in 1978 in Bergen on the isle of Rügen (GDR). He worked as an author, reporter and video journalist for German television and radio before studying at the renowned Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. As a child, he was involved in numerous radio plays and was the young publisher and editor-in-chief of the youth magazine 'Shot'!. After finishing school he worked as an author, speaker and reporter for various television and radio broadcasters, followed by studies from 2002-2008 in Film Directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy. In 2007 he graduated with the movie NOVEMBER CHILD, which was a big success in cinemas and won different awards in international festivals. In 2011 his second feature film CRACKS IN THE SHELL followed. For both movies he wrote the screenplay together with Heide Schwochow. In 2012 he directed the adaptation of the best-selling novel THE TOWER for German TV, which made him one of Germany’s leading directors.
