Biography

Siam is a member of The Academy - The Oscars. He is a fiction and documentary filmmaker. A grantee of Sundance, World Cinema Fund, Aide aux Cinémas du Monde for his films who have been screened in NYFF, Karlovy Vary and Carthage where he won the Grand Prize in 2018 and Best Cinematography in 2017 for his film WHOSE COUNTRY? distributed by Kino Lorber. His film AMAL was IDFA Opening Film that won Sheffield Jury Prize and FidaDoc Award and screened in Göteborg, CPH Dox, Vision du Réel and was sold worldwide. Along with being an Alumnus of Sundance, IDFA Academy, La Femis, La Fabrique des Cinémas du Monde in Cannes, Siam is a Berlinale, Durban and Beirut Talent Alumnus who has won Robert Bosch Film Prize and Thessaloniki award. Siam is a jury in Karlovy Vary, Göteborg film festivals and IDFA Bertha and Hot Docs Funds as well as a fellow scholar and filmmaker resident in the American University in Paris.
