Biography

Gurvinder Singh graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He has directed two features in Punjabi. ALMS FOR A BLIND HORSE (2011) premiered in the Orizzonti section at the Venice FF, and won him a National Award for Best Direction, a Special Jury Award and the Black Pearl Trophy at the Abu Dhabi FF, and the Golden Peacock for Best Film at the IFF India, Goa. FOURTH DIRECTION (2015) was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes FF, won the Golden Gateway Award at Jio MAMI Mumbai FF with Star, and the Silver Screen Award for Best Asian Film at Singapore IFF. His short film Infiltrator is part of the international omnibus IN THE SAME GARDEN (2016). His short film SEA OF LOST TIME (2019) premiered at the IFF Rotterdam. His most recent feature film BITTER CHESNUT (2019) premiered at the Busan IFF.
