Trần Dũng Thanh Huy graduated from Movie and Stage University of HCMC as a valedictorian. He is one of the most promising young directors of Vietnam film industry in the last 5 years. Since 2005 he has made a lot of short film projects and won many awards in Vietnam. In 2011, Thanh Huy was rewarded the Golden Kite Prize (The Vietnamese Oscars) for his short film, 16:30, and the Best Director for the short film ĐƯỜNG BI in The 48 Hour Film Project Vietnam. 
His debut’s project, LOTTERY BOY is a feature about a Vietnamese 'lottery boy' who fights against a dangerous life-style. In 2015, THE LOTTERY BOY was awarded the Best Project Award at Hanoi Spring Film festival. Sponsored by the American Film Association (MPA), THE LOTTERY BOY was selected for the Asian Project Market 2015 in Busan and will start development in 2016.
