Biography

Agustín Toscano was born in 1981 in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina. He studied theatre at the National University of Tucumán and at the Escuela Universitaria Cine, Video y Televisión. His first feature film, THE OWNERS, premiered at the Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013, where it received Special Mention, and was screened at the 43rd Molodist International Film Festival in Kiev, where it also received Special Mention for sustaining the cinematographic tradition of Luis Buñuel and Joseph Losey. It also won the 2014 Silver Condor Award for Best First Work, presented by the Association of Cinematographic Reporters of Argentina.
His film THE SNATCH THIEF (2018) was screened in the Directors' Fortnight section at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and won several awards at film festivals around the world.
