Biography

Giorgio Treves is a director and screenwriter. He was born in 1945 in New York from an Italian family who fled to the United States to escape the Second World War. Treves studied economics in Turin before moving to Rome to pursue cinema, where he worked as assistant director for Vittorio De Sica, Francesco Rosi, Luchino Visconti, and others. In 1972, he directed the short film K-Z, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Short Documentary. His latest feature, 1938 DIVERSI (2018), is premiering at the Venice Film Festival.
