When I think about a film I want to make, I imagine myself as a spectator watching the film on the screen, in the theatre. The result of the film may vary, depending on the theatre imagined.    


Federico Veiroj (b. 1976 in Montevideo) majored in Social Communications Sciences. He worked at the Uruguayan Cinematheque, at the Spanish Film Library and as a film programmer. He has produced and directed short-films since 1996. ACNÉ (2008), his debut feature, premiered at the Director's Fortnight in Cannes and won awards at Cine en Construcción in San Sebastian, AFI – Los Angles, Havana FF and at SANFIC / Chile IFF. In 2009 ACNÉ was also nominated for the Goya awards as a Best Hispano-American Film. In 2010 premiered A USEFUL LIFE (LA VIDA ÚTIL), his second feature film which has won numerous awards at FICCI Cartagena, Valdivia IFF, Transilvania IFF and Istanbul IFF.
In 2015, his third feature, THE APOSTATE screened, among others, at Toronto IFF and San Sebastián International Film Festival.
