International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Zlín is the oldest and biggest event of its kind worldwide. Founded in 1961 in the Czechoslovakian hotbed of filmmaking for children and youth, the festival gradually acquired international presence and attention. Its programme scheme with more than 300 films is very wide – from competitions of films for children and youth and short animations for children to European First Films and student films.
