    A Danish writer and director of Palestinian descent, Mahdi Fleifel completed his studies at the National Film and Television School in London in 2009. His remarkable documentaries and shorts helped in establishing his name in the festival circuit. From 2003 to 2012, Fleifel directed a number of short films including; HAMOUDI & EMIL (2004), ARAFAT & I (2008) and 4 WEEKS (2008). His credits include films such as the critically acclaimed A WORLD NOT OURS (2012), recipient of more than 30 international awards, XENOS (2014), and A MAN RETURNED (2016) that was nominated for a European Film Award and received the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 2016. Fleifel's films have been nominated for 95 film awards internationally and won over 50 awards so far, and the number is on the rise. I SIGNED THE PETITION premiered at Visions du Reel.
