A strange family: 17-year-old Phil lives with his mother and twin sister in an old mansion on the outskirts of town. When he returns from summer camp, the mood in the mansion has soured somehow. Phil doesn’t worry about it, hanging out with his best friend Kat instead. When he starts to feel attracted to a mysterious new student at school, Phil is plunged into emotional turmoil only exacerbated by the trouble at home. Based on the bestseller by Andreas Steinhöfel.

Jakob M. Erwa
Austria
Jakob M. Erwa, born in Graz, Austria, in 1981, wanted to become a rock star, but cinema turned his head. There was art school and later film school (HFF Munich), which he successfully completed in 2007. He loves new challenges and unconventional approaches. His well-received debut film, ALL THE INVISIBLE THINGS (HEILE WELT, 2007), won the Grand Diagonale Award for Best Austrian Film as well as the German Independence Award for Best German Film at the Oldenburg International Film Festival. Furthermore, the film was selected for numerous international film festivals. In 2009, Erwa directed the TV miniseries TSCHUSCHEN:POWER (5x25 min). His second feature film, HOMESICK, marked a new step in his career as his first independent production, premiering at the Berlinale Perspektive German Cinema 2015. With his third feature, CENTRE OF MY WORLD (2016), he fulfilled a dream and adapted one of his favourite books, the best-selling novel Center of my World, by Andrea Steinhöfel.
