Synopsis

CROCODILE is an original, deeply moving, at times surprisingly comic journey into the head of a father torn apart by grief. Simon, a middle class headmaster, receives news that his eighteen year old daughter, Penny, has been killed by a crocodile while on a gap year in Kenya. We watch as Simon struggles to come to terms with what's happened - and struggles to deal with well-wishers who just don't quite know what to say. During the day he copes silently, causing he and his wife to slowly drift apart. At night, we watch as he is besieged by nightmares. Craving normality, Simon goes back to work, far too soon. Andy, the deputy head, fumbles inadequately to find the right words to share with Simon. Finally, Simon snaps, and drives to a zoo to confront the beast.
