Daimi is 12 years. It's Christmas, and she has tragically been left in a dark home with her only friend, a pet pig. Daimi's imagination overshadows reality. A reality she realizes with a scream. Daimi is not as alone as she thinks.

Making my two short films, I discovered my love for exploring filmic language. They were heavy on form, and I had an ironic detachment from the content. That was all well and good. But with PSYCHOSIA I wanted to do something different: stick to a potent and experimental language, but combined with content that was more involved and closer to myself.

Marie Grahtø is an awardwinning writer/director based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
She is a two-time Danish Academy Award Robert nominee and has been appointed “Director to Watch” by the four largest film trade magazines in the Nordic countries.
She has travelled festivals around the world with her three short films DAIMI (2012), YOLO (2013) and TEENLAND (2014) while attending the Independent Danish Film School Super16. Festivals include International Film Festival Rotterdam, SXSW, Palm Springs International Film Festival and many more. PSYCHOSIA (2019) is her debut feature film selected in competition at the 34th Venice International Film Critics' Week.
