In the small Romanian town of Deva, Kato, a teen girl living in an orphanage gets electrocuted while drying her hair. This event changes the world around her. The orphanage is invaded by electricians, and a new volunteer, Bogi is hired to help. Kato becomes infatuated with her, and when she realizes that Bogi is going to leave soon, she decides to sacrifice an old volunteer for the new one.

Petra Szőcs was born in Kolozsvár, Romania, in 1981, and is a poet and screenwriter. She studied at the Academy for Film and Theatre in Budapest. In her films, Petra Szőcs prefers to work with amateur actors. Her short film THE EXECUTION played in the official selection of the 67th Festival de Cannes in 2014. Her first feature, DEVA (2018), is premiering at the Venice Film Festival.
