Presented as if filtered through a sunny Instagram setting, Greener Grass won’t exactly make you envious of the over-idealized lifestyle it skewers, and yet it’s such a delightful place to inhabit, you won’t want to leave when the credits roll.

    Peter Debruge, Variety

The wickedly weird (and often wonderful) suburban satire crams more inventive ideas and clear-eyed perspective into 95 minutes than most billion-dollar franchises can do over the course of a dozen movies.

Both of us grew up in suburbia. We wanted to tell the stories of women we knew in our neighbourhood. We wanted to show external things, which is obviously part of the epidemic of social media, where no attention is placed on the inner self.

Jocelyn DeBoer is an award-winning actress, writer, and director who got her start improvising at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre where she's been a weekly performer for nearly a decade. Jocelyn is known for GREENER GRASS (2019), a dark comedy feature she co-wrote and co-directed alongside Dawn Luebbe. They co-star in the film opposite Beck Bennett, Neil Casey, Mary Holland, and D'Arcy Carden. Jocelyn plays a supporting role in Jim Cumming's THUNDER ROAD (2018). Her latest acting credit is for SCARE PACKAGE (2019), an omnibus horror film that premiered at Sitges IFFF.

[In suburbia,] there could be the serial killer on the loose but your best friend is seen as the bigger threat. We create identities through our children, and they become pawns.

Dawn co-wrote, co-directed and co-starred in the indie feature, GREENER GRASS (2019), alongside Jocelyn DeBoer, which premiered at Sundance. Dawn has appeared on HBO's HIGH MAINTENANCE, TruTV's ADAM RUINS EVERYTHING and is the co-creator and star of the IFC web-series RAGE. She published a book of comedic essays and preteen diary entries, "My 1992 Diary," with Abrams Books. She has been a long-time writer and performer at The Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre.
