    Aude Chevalier-Beaumel studied at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts where she specialized in photography and film. Very early on, she became interested in Latin America and focused her study and creations on the sociological, religious and political aspects of this culture. She wrote and directed various documentaries in France and in Brazil. In 2010, she directed the documentary ESTRADA, which deals with urban violence and young people killed by gunshots in Rio. The feature-length documentary is selected and screened at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival 2010. Together with Marcelo Barbosa, she directed INDIANARA (2019), a documentary following the lives of transgender activists in Brazil. It was selected at the 2019 edition of ACID in Cannes.
