Madama Esther, a cleaning lady in her fifties, has just lost her job. As she cannot keep her promise to take her grandson to the sea, she accepts an offer to host illegal cockfights in her backyard - a world filled with angels and crooks in equal measure.

After being invited at 10th BERLINALE TALENT & 5th DURBAN TALENT 2012, Luck was selected at the 65th Festival de Cannes - Pavillions des Cinemas du Monde with his first Feature script project LE CHANT DES TLOUS and won the Eclair GROUP PRIZE. He continued with the 17th FADS program of Amiens International Film (Nov 2012) as a selected project and was invited to a Residency Script program at Moulin d’Andé CECI (Normandie France) financed by CNC France. His short films ZEBU OF DADILAHY and MADAMA ESTHER were in competitions & screened at several film festivals like Clermont Ferrand - Short film corner Cannes - Kiev - Lithuania - Ukraine, Seoul, Namur, Afrikamera Berling, Egypt, Poland, Fribourg, Tunisia... and won prizes in Nantes - Madagascar Short Film Festival - JCC Cartage film festival 2014 and at the FESPACO 2015. Luck Razanajaona also participated in a workshop under the direction of American-Ethiopian director Haile Gerima, during which he shot his new short, AURUS NEGRA in Egypt. He is currently working on two, feature-length fiction scripts: CHANTS DES TLOUS (Eclair GROUP PRIZE At Pavillion des Cinemas du mondes - Fetsival de Cannes 2012) and DISCO AFRIKA, which won the STEPFUND developement prize (Luxor African Film Festival 2015) and also the Rotterdam Lab Award and OIF developement Award at the 2016 Durban Film Mart 2016. Both projects are seeking options in financing and co-production. In 2016 he finished his iconoclast Samurai short MEMORIES. He is part of the Rotterdam Lab Alumnis 2017 and was selected for the residency program Reunion en Hauteur for his feature project DISCO AFRIKA (June 2017).
