Synopsis

In the municipal elections of 1992, Magalhães Teixeira is elected mayor of the city of Campinas. From archival fotage, the film shows a politician in campaign, the embarasments of his team and the distrust of voters amid the impeachment of Brazilian president Fernando Collor de Melo.

Director's Statement

Looking at a time in the past may also reveal something that looks familiar, the feeling that history repeats itself, which surprises us and throws light on the understanding of the present.
In these times so difficult and dangerous for Brazilian politics, it is a valid point to rethink the past, to digest one's memory, as individual and society. And the image, produced in excess, can help with this task. At least I believe so.
