Synopsis

Imane is an ordinary — if, in Salwa Jamil’s perf, somewhat mannered — housewife, happily married, raising two kids of her own as well as the daughter of a brother imprisoned for pro-democracy activism. Heroine’s taxi driver husband is a political progressive too, attracted to the anti-Bush demonstrations (seen in the real-life footage) that often block city streets.
But a different strain of moral fervor is beginning to weigh heavily on Imane.
