A married doctor meets a young PhD student who is researching unusual food habits of north-eastern India. This encounter pulls the doctor out of her joyless domestic existence and an unconventional romance brews between the two as they bond over their love for different kinds of meat. However, as her tastes become more adventurous and cravings intensify, their relationship takes a dark, bizarre turn that neither had anticipated.

I get attracted to stories that are dark, provocative, and take a cynical view on humanity. Not all stories have a happy ending in life, so there's no reason why cinema should shy away from exploring the beauty behind emotions like misery, terror, repugnance and melancholia.
Bhaskar Hazarika is an Assamese filmmaker from India. His debut feature THE RIVER OF FABLES was crowdfunded and completed in 2015. It premiered at the Busan IFF and has also been shown at the BFI London FF. The film went to receive the Silver Lotus - India's National Film Award for Best Assamese film - in 2016. His latest film RAVENING has been presented at India's Film Bazaar as a 'Recommended' film and is expected to premiere in mid-2019.
