Sunka Raku is a life told in four seasons. It is the orbit of a man who comes close to and steps back from the light, experiencing weather transformations in the garden of the soul. A documentary about the meticulous construction of Japanese tea houses in the Mexican Ajusco, as an excuse to discover a mind that at first glance might seem obsessive and eccentric.

[THIS IS NOT BERLIN] was set in the ‘80s because it’s my life. It is absolutely autobiographical. It’s about a boy who grows in Lomas Verdes. I grew up in Echegaray, a few blocks away. And it is properly my life, my arrival with these artists, my arrival after growing desperate in this suburb where there was no art, there was nothing.

Hari Sama studied directing at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica and musical composition at CIEM in Mexico City. With his feature films, he has participated in numerous film festivals and won several awards. THE DREAM OF LU (2011) won a Golden Goblet for best actress at the Shanghai International Film Festival and an Ariel Award. AWAKENING DUST (2013) won the Kukulkán Award for best picture at the Riviera Maya Film Festival. THIS IS NOT BERLIN (2019) won several awards at Malaga FF and played at Sundance FF and Tribeca FF.
