    32-year-old Erkan moves back to his family’s upper-middle class house in Izmir, after a year of misery caused by unemployment and a bitter divorce. Having no plans for the future, he befriends a group of loafers. His aimless drift takes an unexpected turn, when a terrible smell that comes from the gulf starts to spread over the city.

    Emre Yeksan started his career as a free-lance producer in Paris, France after obtaining his BA and MA in Film Studies from The University of Paris – La Sorbonne. He moved back to Istanbul in 2007. Since then, he has worked as producer with directors Semih Kaplanoglu (on MILK/SÜT), Kamen Kalev (on EASTERN PLAYS and THE ISLAND) and Hüseyin Karabey (on COME TO MY VOICE). THERE, OUTSIDE will be his first feature as director.
