    Fiction

Inès, 35 years old, is a photographer. She is in an emotionally fragile phase and begins putting together a book of personal poems and photographs. Gradually, the process of bringing a book to fruition becomes a very personal and unfettered exploration of her past: of her relationship with her mother; the role of the family home in the south, which seems to have been frozen in time; and how the absence of her father – who disappeared in 1977 during the dictatorship - influenced all of those years.

What interests me is the character’s inner experience.

Milagros Mumenthaler was born in Argentina in 1977, but her family moved to Switzerland, where she lived until she was 17. She decided to return to her native country to study film at the Universidad del cine in Buenos Aires, and graduated in 2004. In 2000 she made her first short film, ¿CUANDO LLEGA PAPA?, followed by three more: EL PATIO (2003), CAPE COD (2003) and AMANCAY (2005). ABRIR PUERTAS U+Y VENTANAS (2011), her first feature film, was supported by a writing residency at the Cannes Festival’s Cinéfondation.
