Hissa Hilal, a 43-year-old poetess and activist from Saudi Arabia, tests her boundaries in the daily struggle for change. Veiled in a burqa, she gains international fame at Abu Dhabi’s prestigious contest “Million’s Poet” with her poems critical of terrorism and the ideologies of fanatic islamists.

Andreas Wolff was born 8th October 1978 in Munich, Germany. At the age of 15 he became a professional windsurfer competing on the World Cup Tour. After ten years of travelling around the world, Andy moved back to Europe where he started working as an assistant on film sets. He studied at USC's graduate film school in Los Angeles and at Munich’s University of Television and Film (HFF). Andy has lived in Hawaii, Paris, Los Angeles and Munich.
Stefanie Brockhaus is an independent filmmaker from Munich, Germany. Her first short film JAM won the Lux award for Best experimental film at the ICA in 2003. It was screened at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and at film festivals in Sheffield and Clermont-Ferrand, among others. Brockhaus’ feature documentary debut ON THE OTHER SIDE OF LIFE, which she co-directed with Andy Wolff, was selected at SXSW and DOK Leipzig in 2010. Her latest feature, THE POETESS was selected at Locarno FF.
